Last Seen in Nevada

Misty Marie Saens was age 25 when she was reported missing early March of 2003 from Las Vegas, NV. Her torso was found March 6, 2003, wrapped in black plastic bags and bed sheets, off State Route 159 near State Route 160 just west of Las Vegas, NV.

Jodi Marie Foster was age 19 when she was reported missing August 14, 2003 from Las Vegas, NV. Her torso was found August 29, 2003, wrapped in plastic and a sheet, lying on the side of a road on Interstate 15, near the off-ramp to Cima Road, about 25 miles south of the Nevada-California border.

Lindsey Marie Harris was age 21 when she was reported missing May 5, 2005 from Henderson, NV. On May 23, 2005, her legs were found in a grassy area a few hundred yards off of Interstate 55, about 15 miles south of Springfield, Ill., over 1600 miles away from her home. Her identity wasn’t confirmed until May 2008.

Jessica Louise Foster was age 21 when she was reported missing March 28, 2006 from Las Vegas, NV. There is speculation that Jessica is a victim of the same fate as Misty, Jodi and Lindsey. Her story shares all the same characteristics and circumstances as the other girls, except for her middle name. There has been no new information in Jessica’s case since 2006.

Possible Serial Killer?

There are many similarities in these cases. All were thin, caucasian, with strawberry blond hair and ranged in age from 19-26. Also, each girl stood between 5’4″ and 5’6″ and their middle names were “Marie.” All were dismembered, with parts of their bodies found wrapped in plastic and cloth, and disposed of on major highways. It would appear that these girls were being taken somewhere while they were still alive, or taken somewhere to be disposed of. Some have even suggested a truck driver serial killer, picking up girls and dumping them along their route.

Jennifer Smith

Michelle Haggadone

A trucker stands accused of three murders of sex workers and is suspected in at least one other. Authorities are still in the process of looking into unsolved homicides along his long-haul route. His crime spree may have started as far back as 1995.

A loner, who lived with his mother, John Boyer shocked seasoned homicide investigators with his lack of remorse and venomous hatred for women. FULL STORY

The victims are:
Jennifer Smith, 25
Michelle Haggadone, 34
Scarlett Wood, 31
Rose Marie Mallette, 26

“It was consensual”

Karen Jane Campbell and Alisa Marie Beck, victims.

A jury found a Mesa, AZ man guilty in the kidnapping and rape of two women – Alisa Marie Beck, age 21, in 2004 and Karen Jane Campbell, age 44, in 2007. He’s suspected of other violent assaults on sex workers.

According to reports, the Mesa Police Department aggressively investigated the case to bring the killer, a convenience store owner, to justice.

Using DNA evidence and a huge push from area residents, Philadelphia, PA police arrested 21-year-old Anthony Rodriquez for strangling three women to death: Elaine Goldberg, 21, Nicole Piacentini, 35 and Casey Mahoney, 27.

Residents rallied after the women’s bodies were discovered in Nov-Dec., 2010 – creating a Facebook page to catch the killer. Police, fearing vigilantism, made haste investigating the case.

On Nov. 20, 2006, passers-by stumbled upon the bodies of four women in shallow graves behind The Golden Key Motel on the Black Horse Pike just outside of Atlantic City. All were clothed, but their shoes and socks had been removed. Their heads pointed east towards mecca and the dirty glitz of the casinos. Beloved and beautiful, all four women were reportedly engaged in sex work along “the track”, an area stroll.

One woman claims this man, who booked a session with her that turned frightening, around the time of the murders may be the killer.

Police have investigated three men though none have been charged. DNA evidence was apparently washed away by the rain. Profiles of the killer have described him as a loner, social misfit and foot fetishist who doesn’t kill every sex worker he sees.

Some have suggested this killer may be responsible for the murders on Gilgo Beach as well, in part based on the appearance of Facebook pages put up posthumously for both the Long Island and Atlantic City victims. Additionally, at least one of the Long Island victims was determined to be killed in the same manner as the Atlantic City victims – strangulation.

Stop Violence against Sex Workers

We wish we didn’t have to have a blog like this, but we see that in the U.S. little has been done to change the systems that allow violence to proliferate. As sex work is pushed further into the darkest corners of American society, via trafficking panic, we fear more cases of serial killings and assualts in the sex work community.
